Layer Cake was my refuge for about four years. It was a constant thread that wove through heartbreak, losing a parent to cancer, and the Covid-19 lockdown (to name a few). It’s a document our musical kinship (not to mention Justin’s incredible patience with me). We made this for ourselves, for fun. I hope that a few people who are not us will enjoy it as well.
